A COMMUNITY SPACE, USED WITH CARE
Terms of Use.
Effective and last updated: October 6, 2026
These Terms govern use of TMF, a community directory maintained by MM for monasteries, pagodas, temples and Myanmar organizations in the United States. Please read them with our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the contribution, account or reaction features and discontinue use of the service.
1. Purpose, eligibility and accounts
TMF helps people find community places and learn about events. It is not an emergency service, an official registry, a booking platform or a substitute for contacting an organization directly. A listing does not establish endorsement, affiliation, accreditation, legal status or a safety guarantee.
You may browse without an account. Contributions and reactions require a verified Google account. You must be at least 13 and meet any higher age or consent requirement that applies to your use. If you are below the age of legal adulthood, use these features only with appropriate parent or guardian permission. Do not impersonate another person or claim to represent an organization without authorization.
You are responsible for keeping your account and device secure and for your use of the service. The site never asks you to give its administrators your Google password or verification codes. Administrative access is separately restricted; a visitor account does not give permission to manage the directory.
2. Directory and event information
Information may come from OpenStreetMap, official websites, a bundled directory snapshot or community submissions. Coverage is incomplete, classifications may be approximate and details may become outdated. Verify addresses, opening hours, accessibility, costs, event dates and visiting arrangements directly before relying on a listing or traveling.
Sample/archive events are examples from earlier dates, not verified upcoming events. Cloud event lists and community profiles load in bounded batches, so not every stored record is necessarily visible in the current view or loaded search results. Events do not automatically disappear when their dates pass. Administrators may correct, archive or remove information.
A community profile hosted here is a page within this directory, not a separate website or domain. We do not guarantee search-engine indexing, social-media previews, traffic, attendance, donations or other outcomes from publication.
3. What you may submit
Submit only information and images you have the right and permission to share. Use accurate descriptions, respect people’s privacy and obtain any necessary consent before supplying identifiable photographs or personal contact details. Do not include confidential information, passwords, identity documents, private home addresses or other sensitive information that is not intended for the selected purpose.
Ordinary suggestions are sent to a private review inbox inside the website, not to an administrator’s Gmail inbox. An administrator may use approved content to create or correct a public event/profile. Submission does not guarantee publication, approval or a response within a particular time. A “Reviewed” status is not a publication promise. Privacy/removal requests use a separate inbox and are not offered as public drafts.
You retain rights you hold in your contribution. By submitting an ordinary place/event suggestion, you give TMF permission to store, review, resize or reformat, edit for clarity, display and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the directory and the relevant listing, including public sharing of published pages. This permission is non-exclusive and does not transfer ownership. Private identity/contact fields are used for account and review purposes as described in the Privacy Policy. Privacy requests are used to handle the request, not for public promotion.
You may request correction or removal. We can remove content from our service when appropriate, but cannot recall copies made by third parties. Rights belonging to others, applicable law and necessary records may affect how a request can be handled. Images may be converted to a smaller still format; keep your original files because this site is not a backup service.
4. Acceptable use and moderation
Do not use TMF to submit unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, harassing or hateful content; expose another person’s private information; infringe intellectual-property rights; upload malicious code; solicit scams; or mislead visitors about an organization or event. Do not bypass access rules, probe private records, impersonate an administrator, manipulate reactions, evade account limits or place excessive load on the service.
We may review, decline, edit, remove or restrict content or access when reasonably needed to operate the directory, protect people, address abuse or comply with law. We may act without advance notice in urgent or serious cases. Moderation is not a guarantee that all published content is correct or that all harmful content will be detected.
One pending community suggestion and one pending privacy request per account are supported, with submission cooldowns. These controls may change to protect availability. Do not create additional accounts to evade limits. A technical error or a disabled feature is not permission to attempt a different unauthorized route.
5. Reactions
Emoji reactions are informal appreciation, not an election, confidential ballot, identity verification or reliable measure of attendance. One selected reaction per account per event is supported; one person may still control more than one account. Counts may be delayed, incomplete or unavailable. Reaction user IDs and choices for published events are publicly readable as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not treat them as anonymous.
6. Support and donation links
Coffee, Burger, Big Meal and Donation / Charity buttons open external payment pages supplied by the site operator. Confirm the recipient, amount, currency, purpose and any recurring-payment setting on the checkout page before paying. Labels on this site are not a substitute for the checkout details.
TMF does not collect card details or process charges within the directory. Payment-provider terms and the recipient’s applicable policies govern the transaction. We do not promise charitable registration, a tax deduction, a particular use of funds, a benefit in exchange for payment, or a refund unless expressly stated by the relevant recipient or required by law. For a payment issue, use the contact information on your receipt or payment page. Never send full card details through a submission.
7. Third-party services and licenses
Google/Firebase, OpenStreetMap, Stripe and linked organizations are independent services with their own terms and policies. We do not control their availability, content or decisions. Opening an external link does not mean TMF endorses everything on that destination.
Directory material derived from OpenStreetMap remains subject to its applicable attribution and database license requirements, including the OpenStreetMap copyright and ODbL information. Third-party software, images and other content retain their respective licenses and rights. These Terms do not override those licenses or grant ownership of another party’s trademarks or material. Do not remove required attribution when reusing data.
8. Availability, changes and backups
The service is offered on an “as available” basis. Free-tier quotas, outages, browser limitations, maintenance, security incidents or changes to external services may interrupt features or make records unavailable. We may change or discontinue features. We do not promise uninterrupted service, indefinite storage or preservation of every record.
Keep independent copies of important submissions and original photographs. Offline support is limited primarily to previously loaded public application files and the bundled directory. Authentication, submissions, cloud data, reactions, maps and external links generally need an internet connection.
9. Responsibility and limits
Use reasonable judgment and independently verify important information. To the extent permitted by applicable law, TMF and its operator provide the service without warranties that every listing is accurate, complete, current, safe or suitable for a particular purpose. We are not responsible for an organization’s conduct, changes to an event, travel decisions, third-party websites or payment-provider actions simply because they are linked or listed here.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability, consumer rights or other protections that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. These Terms do not impose a mandatory arbitration process or remove a right to seek relief available under applicable law.
10. Corrections, rights concerns and disputes
Use Share a connection for a correction or content concern. For personal-data access, correction or removal, choose Private privacy / removal request. Identify the page or record and explain the issue without including unnecessary sensitive information. For a copyright concern, identify the protected work, the disputed content and your authority to make the request. We may ask for clarification or verification.
We encourage an attempt to resolve concerns directly through the site’s review process. The applicable law and any mandatory rights determine where and how a dispute may be brought; these Terms do not invent a particular company address or court location. If sign-in is unavailable, retry when the service is restored or use the public support contact shown on the Google sign-in consent screen, where available.
11. Updates to these Terms
Updates are posted on this page with a revised date. Material changes will be explained on the site where appropriate. Continuing to use a changed feature after the revised Terms take effect is subject to those Terms to the extent permitted by law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply where lawful. These Terms should be read together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms shown for a specific external service.
